“Trespassing Welcome”: Malvern Hills’ DIY Greenway

The Malvern Hills community is volunteering their time to keep their portion of Canie Creek accessible and welcoming to the public.

What started as a 9-hole golf course in the 1920’s fell into disrepair in the 1950’s and is now a thriving habitat for native species and a truly beautiful stroll.

As of now, two enthusiastic neighborhood residents volunteer their time for mowing, building bridges, clearing invasive species, and trail maintenance, while AVL Green Works has installed a Trash Trout to keep the creek clear of trash and debris as it feeds into Hominy Creek.

There is a swing and a trampoline. It’s pretty great.
