Assembled with the intention of nurturing the essence of Asheville. Its heart, its spirit, whatever it is that keeps us here. It’s hard to put a finger on it, but we know that it’s some expression of love.
We want to do our part to tend to this ethereal spirit like a beautiful garden. We’re here to bring you the bountiful harvest that Asheville has to offer in the form of this publication, full of events that we think nourish the spirit of this city.
If you love this, hold on to it.
If you like this, pass it along to the next person.
If you’re indifferent, leave it for someone to find.
This is our imprint.

What is Imprint?
The Imprint team assembled with the intention of nurturing the essence of Asheville. Its heart, its spirit, whatever it is that keeps us here. It’s hard to put a finger on it, but we know that it’s some expression of love.
We are all transplants, and it’s been long enough now that we want to do our part to tend to this ethereal spirit like a beautiful garden. We’ve decided to bring you the bountiful harvest that Asheville has to offer in the form of this publication, full of events that we think nourish the spirit of this city.
How can we answer this question without bringing capitalism into it?
Capitalism is crushing. Late-stage capitalism is disillusioning. We’re all dealing with it in the best way we can, finding ways to make meaning. Asheville’s lily-white spirit is being tumble-washed with a red sock.
We imagine you’ve also had your own “big city” experience, and however it played out, we ultimately landed here in Asheville. It may be our natural disposition, the place we are in life, or the pandemic, but whatever the case may be, acting with intention, being deliberate in our lifestyle, slowing down, and building community is the right choice. Not everyone can prescribe to the hustle. It fulfills some people, but others get swallowed up in it.
Where do we fit in?
Seeing Fleet Foxes at Rabbit Rabbit is an amazing experience, but so is seeing Kathryn O’Shea at Open Folk. We would like to present you with artists and events that don’t have marketing budgets, are organized by the community, and might warrant your attention.
We want a place that feels like a friend inviting you to a party on the night you are stuck at home with nothing to do; a publication that feels like the friend that brings you under their wing when you’re searching for people to connect with.
Community is activism. By showing up to any one of these events, you are leaving an impression. Showing up for the people doing exciting and new things is how we make progress. We want the buzz of absurdist notebook paper poetry stapled to telephone poles along Haywood to spark discussion and intrigue. We want the bus stop Guitar Hero guy to be the official sign of spring.
We’re not going anywhere until all of West Asheville is a parking lot for Biltmore and all the basements are finished and listed on Airbnb.
If you’re searching for something, here’s your invitation.
Love, Imprint
